Memorial Day Weekend Check In
Been nose down in school work lately. Lots of reading. Tons of reading. Lots of researching literature and writing as well. Real time consuming. Being honest, I don't feel like blogging and commenting much after all that. It's just all mentally draining. After spending hours reading and writing for school, the last thing I want to do is more reading and writing.
I do have a new course that started though. The material is stuff I'm very familiar with. So it comes second nature. Hopefully that means I'll spend a little more time working on some chores here at home now. And maybe even blogging and commenting here on Hive. We'll see.
Good news. My cherry tomatoes have finally sprouted. I thought they were a loss. Had written them off completely after the mess I made planting them. Seeds floating everywhere. Containers falling apart. A real disaster. But today I noticed them sprouting from the containers. Life finds a way I guess. The strawberries are still a no show though. May have to accept that one as a loss.
Still making a dent in the garage. A little at a time. All the rain we've had hasn't helped. I want to drag a bunch of stuff out of the garage and sort it that way. Can't do that with the rain. So it's been slow going.
I'm mad at myself. I let the rain cut into my walking. Even though we have a walking pad in the basement, I still did not walk at all this last week. Doom on me for that. I will do better. No excuses. The walking pad is right there. Rain doesn't matter when you've got one in the basement.
That's it for now. I'm a few beers into Memorial Day weekend and not much else to write about.
To all my fellow veterans, hope you're taking a moment this weekend to remember the ones who didn't make it home. That's what this weekend is about. Enjoy your time with family. Raise a glass. Remember.
Thanks for reading,
Joe
