Lamp Post Fixed
One of the sockets on our outdoor lamp posts went bad. We have two that sit on each side of the driveway. Seems moisture made its way into one of them and caused corrosion. Stopped working completely.
Not much of an electrician, but I know enough to make me dangerous to myself. So I purchased some weatherproof sockets on Amazon. Replaced the bad one yesterday. It took me some time. Only because I kept connecting wires before attaching the lamp hood pieces correctly. Had to unwire and rewire several times. Rerun wire through the hood pieces and so on. Finally got it right.
By the time I was done, I was exhausted. Sun was out and I was directly in it. Just sucked the life out of me. Had to actually take a couple breaks just to get through it. I intended to go ahead and replace the other lamp's socket as well. Just to have it done and replaced with the new weatherproof kind. Preventative maintenance you know. But I was too exhausted. It will have to wait till another time. Or until it goes out. Whichever comes first.
In the meantime, back to the garage. Always another project. Always something that needs done. You knock one out and two more are waiting. That's just how it goes.
But I'm happy to be feeling up to doing some small projects and little chores outside now. There was a time not too long ago when I couldn't. When I spent most of my days in the recliner watching winter pass by through the window.
This is better. Even if the sun kicks my ass and I have to take breaks. I'm out there. I'm doing things. I'm moving.
That's progress.

Joe
