It seems life's grand illusion
Is the will to persevere
It thunders to exhaustion
To remain a moment here
The cold has it conclusions
On just how sound behaves
And silence holds suspended
Everything beyond the grave
The persistence of our nature
Settles on the ones we love
Oft descending unforgiving
When push does come to shove
To say it’s contridictive
Making light the soul's repose
Defending those divided
