Starting a New Semester: Struggling to Adjust My Routine
My presence and activity here on Hive reduced significantly these past few weeks, and although I want to focus on building and growing my account, the start of another semester prevent me from doing so.
It’s been two weeks since my classes started, and I’m still trying to adjust my routine and schedule. To be honest, I’m struggling to incorporate my old routine into my current schedule. If during my summer break, I was able to focus on writing, taking a web development course, and improving my physical health. Now, my focus has shifted entirely to academics, leaving me with the challenge of figuring out how to fit in the things I want to do while staying on top of my studies.
My coursework takes up most of my time, and the activities I enjoyed during vacation have been put on hold. Fortunately, I’ve established a consistent routine where I naturally wake up between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., giving me more time in the day to get things done. However, I feel that this hasn’t been very effective because, after hours of studying, I often find my mind too tired to do non-academic tasks like writing a blog or cycling, leaving them unfinished. As a result, even though I wake up early, I still feel unproductive because many items remain on my to-do list. Just yesterday, I thought it was a calm day and I could finally take some time off from studying, but shortly after, our professors posted several class materials and activities to be accomplished before the day’s end. I had no choice but to set aside other things and submit my tasks before the deadline.
As of writing this post, I am quite thankful that my brain was functioning well enough to process my thoughts into words. Although it was short, I am still proud that I accomplished something that is not related to college.
