Cooking for dummies

This post is purely me making fun of myself for not always being the smartest person !!

Let me start by saying :

I won't say I'm a bad cook, I just don't enjoy cooking and i think it's just because I never know what to make so that everyone enjoys the meal.
I'll help my boyfriend when he cooks and every now and again I might be in the mood so yes then I cook.

Yesterday I was asked if i can make a nice Sunday lunch, I obviously said yes since I was actually in a cooking mood.

But... Nothing wanted to go right !!
I did learn a few things ( obvious things ) but I thought I'll share them with you just in case there might be someone out there who (like me ) might not always be in their right mind.

So..
I remember quit early into cooking that steam is hot.
Don't believe me? just ask my finger !

This is how I remembered steam is hot.
While talking to my sister in-law I for some reason tried to see if my nail will fit through the hole. ( I do these stupid things more often than i should )

This one I honestly did not know ( stupid I know ). I never had problems when taking a pot to strain pasta.
But, yesterday I when I wanted to strain my potato's and carrots I learned that yes, pot handles also get hot !!
If you don't believe me on this you can just ask my other burnt finger.

I did learn a few other stuff as well but I think I will just stop embarrassing myself now.
