Serbian instrument: FRULA
It is believed that frula is the oldest and most numerous instrument in the world. In various variants, sizes and shapes, we find it in almost every country of the planet. Still, one thing is certain: Frula has become a Serbian national instrument by time.
Frula in Serbia was the center of social and public life in rural areas. As soon as a frula appeared, people would sing. Frula has been in use in all public spaces, in a natural environment among herdsmen, in rural congregations, in fringes, in mobs. It offered the opportunity for people to enrich their lives. The best Serbian musician on frula is Bora Dugić.
