Cleared for Landing

Hello everyone and welcome my post for today.

I'm using the Ecency platform today instead of PeakD that I normally use as it refuses to download images today for some reason.

Today I have images of a Black Crowned Night Heron comming in for a landing at the West end of Woodly Island here on Humboldt Bay at low tide.

This is the first time I've imaged one in flight and head on.

Usually I find them roosting and snoozing in a tree as they are mostly nocternal. I am here early on an overcast morning at low tide and there are several species of birds fishing the tide pools here on the mud flat.

I have hundreds of images to go through and have enough for dozens of posts.

There are about a half dozen Night Herons on the flat but they are all just standing around or flying away from me.

This is the only one that gave me a front end view.

I've been trying to get action shots these days instead of perched or standing around.

I almost missed this series of images but was able to shift over and capture a burst before it landed.

This is a short post for me with six images rather than a couple of dozen or more I normally post but these were the only ones I had of this bird in flight.

Also I've figured my editing software that I bought amost three years ago and can now do batch editing rather than one by one.

This made my editing life so much faster and easier and saves hours of my time =)

I was hoping to capture one of these bad boys acually catching a fish but no joy =(

I did get images of other birds pulling fish out of the tide pools and will be posting them over the next couple of weeks.
