History

It is said that there was once a 'genuine / participatory literary debate'. It started during Japanese colonial rule in the 1920s and 30s and happened in the 1960s. Today, they are called ands, and the names are not important, but the completeness of the work and the response of the readers is important, and the editor's publishing decisions and the book distributor's marketing tendencies are complex. In addition, the topography of the publishing market ecosystem also appears to be forming.

I've started reading camp genre literature recently to develop a sense of balance in studying novels. Looking back, it's a phenomenon after 40 years of contacting paperback editions of world classics like the Sherlock Holmes series, 20,000 liters under the sea, and Gulliver's Travels in elementary school.

Of course, in the meantime, through various films and dramas, I did not live with science fiction, mystery thrillers and fantasy, but it was not an experience to uncover my imagination based on the information that came through the print media. (The electronic method for stimulating audio-visual with brilliant and sophisticated technology feels a bit tiring in brain activity. As it is often said that brain activity stops while playing games.)

Many novelists, who appeared like last year's comets, shot. It is believed that the little balls uploaded will probably make a difference in the publishing market, making little impact. It was as if the gaming industry was leading the tremendous before and after growth of StarCraft.

Literary genre as an alternative to overcome the ugliness of the (real) literary stronghold, which has been in the midst of the Korean literary world, is unlikely to be on the fringes anymore because capital adds to the corona pandemic. However, it is also clear that the power of pure (real) literature can never be ignored, so it is not easy to give up and decline.

With a sense of the artist's calling to accept the strengths of both camps and create my own style, I pray to God to go this route uninterrupted to the end of my life.
