Buying Barbecue for Dinner: A Filipino Favorite That Never Fails
I have experienced selling barbecues in the streets, and Filipinos are into it, especially when they are looking for something to eat for dinner. It's a great business once you catch the attention of loyal customers.
Recently, my partner and I found our new favorite barbecue vendor near us. It's located in our neighboring barangay, which means it's accessible once we decide to get dinner from here. And that's what we did when we craved some freshly grilled barbecue.
When we got there, there were a lot of people around. Most of them are customers waiting for their orders. We went closer to check what's still available and then put our orders on the plates given to us. Then, we handed them over to the vendor. And we just waited in the corner.
While waiting, I was talking to my partner about how my day was, especially about what happened at work. He is my stress reliever, and he always listens to my rants. And while we were laughing and talking, we were also smelling the aroma coming from the barbecue grill. We watched the vendors cook the orders, and we could not stop ourselves from craving more.
I could not stop myself, and I walked closer to the grilling space to see how our orders were doing. And it made me even want to take a bite. As I watched them cook, I noticed the sauce they were putting on while grilling, and that's where the aroma came from. And it made the barbecue tastier too.
We had to wait a little bit more before we heard that our orders were ready. We just paid the exact amount and requested some extra sauce and vinegar. Luckily, the vendors are very kind and made sure our requests were granted.
I did not get to capture the moment when we had the barbecue for dinner, but rest assured that they were all tasty. And we will go back here to buy more next time.
