Only Superheroes can Change the World

Maybe we've so effectively internalized that popular story line that only superheroes, or people with special skills/abilities, are good enough to "save the day" that we don't even bother trying. Maybe that forms part of our apathy towards being better people in our daily lives. Maybe that's why we keep telling ourselves "it's just the way things are, I am only one person, I cannot change anything."
