Drawing the Obsidian for the Splinterlands Art Contest

Hi guys, I had a wonderful time yesterday, it was my traditional wedding and I promise photos will soon follow but for now, I just want to spend my free time with my hubby and you my good friends. The drawing I did this time around is the first of its kind. I have known the Obsidian kind and have come in contact with it over the years but this will be my first time drawing or painting it.
As my recent use of coloured pencils have led me to become a master planner I must say that while making this drawing I wanted to deviate at some point, especially when I got to the staff. I wasn't so sure I could pull it off. I had even picked up my eraser before I decided to just try it first and erase it if it came out otherwise.
Before making this post I made an effort to look up the word Obsidian and soon learnt the crystallized rock in her hand was the Obsidian. I used to think the name referred to the person but thanks to #splinterlands, I now know better.
