the smell of dampness evoking
long lost memories
between the cracks and the leaks
while a dead Jesus
an anachronic witness
of me and you
loving each other
in the spooky light of our dirt nest
vivid moonlight piercing your strands of hair
the specter emptiness
of your arctic blue eyes
your underwear hanging in small units of measure
and your shoes near the heating pipes
the murals of your body left unpacked on the floor
the writings on your hands
we were here once
