Working on the midi motor today
Got a weird issue where petrol sometimes pours out of the bike on its own, but the bike still runs — just hard to start (fires up maybe 7/10 times).
We’re thinking it’s the carb, probably something to do with the float not sitting right.
Been messing around with a spare carb
stripped it down, checked the jets
played with the float pins
and trying to figure out what’s sticking or not sealing properly.
Any ideas or things we should check?
Possible fix:
Most likely the float or float needle isn’t sealing, so fuel keeps flowing even when the bowl’s full. Cleaning the float needle/seat, making sure the float height is set right, and checking that the float moves freely without sticking will usually sort it.
