Hola feliz día a todos, en especial a esta comunidad @ladiesofhive🎉💚. Aquí estoy de nuevo presente para responder a la pregunta # 125, que nos propone nuestra amiga @tibalre sobre la Eutanasia, un tema tan interesante porque la palabra Eutanasia es tan controvertida que es fácil de pronunciar pero tiene un gran peso emocional.

1️⃣ Según Internet, la Eutanasia es la intervención voluntariamente aceptada por el paciente y realizada por un profesional médico, que acelera la muerte de un enfermo terminal, con la intención de evitarle sufrimiento y dolor innecesarios. ¿Estás de acuerdo con esta forma de morir, crees que dignifica a la persona en su decisión de cómo irse, o por el contrario, crees que no debería practicarse? Podría argumentar.

En mi opinión la eutanasia siempre será una decisión difícil de tomar, siempre he tenido en mente que la vida es un regalo de Dios y que él nos la da y nos la quita,; eso es lo que he tenido en mente desde que tengo conocimiento y basándome en mis creencias religiosas. Ahora cuando ese ser querido al que uno ama y reza por salvar y no hay alternativas creo que es ahí que con nuestro dolor y tristeza llegaríamos a preferir verlo partir y no verlo sufrir más.

A continuación voy a compartir con ustedes el motivo de mi respuesta de hoy, lo más breve posible, a la eutanasia practicada a un familiar hace casi dos años.

En varias ocasiones he comentado que mi hermana mayor falleció de covid 19, pero no supimos desde el primer momento cómo fue su triste partida.

Mi sobrina mayor, hija de la fallecida, nos cuenta que la muerte de su madre fue finalmente por Eutanasia, ¿por qué? Resulta que fue llevada al hospital de la capital de Costa Rica llamado San José, donde ingresó con una embolia y fue entubada de inmediato para hacerle un coma inducido. En ese hospital le dieron toda la atención necesaria desde oxígeno hasta la máquina de diálisis ya que sus riñones estaban paralizados.Los médicos luchaban por salvar la vida de mi hermana, incluso utilizaban todo lo que tenían a su alcance, pero los días pasaban y la esperanza se iba acabando; fue entonces cuando los médicos decidieron llamar a su segunda hija para que grabara audios de sus voces y la de mi madre y así poder ponérselos a mi hermana para ver si reaccionaba al oírlos y ¿qué pasó? ¿Qué pasó? Pasó lo que se esperaba. Mi hermana los oyó y reaccionó pero su reacción le provocó un infarto 😔 Hubo decepción para todos, tanto para los médicos como para sus hijas.

Los 3 médicos especialistas que estaban tratando a mi hermana se reunieron por teléfono con dos de mi sobrina y les dijeron estas palabras,
"Hemos tomado una decisión, vamos a hacer el último intento, pero si no reacciona de aquí a mañana, la de conectamos por la tarde, porque ya no habría nada que hacer".

Y así fue ese fatídico día cuando en la mañana del 26 de mayo de 2021 tuvo otro infarto por la mañana, y la decisión se tomó por la tarde a las 16:30 horas, se sometió a la Eutanasia pasiva (o negativa): por omisión (abstención o retirada de terapias). Y Eutanasia voluntaria: La decisión la toma el paciente directamente o terceras personas obedeciendo los deseos previamente expresados por el paciente._Fuente

Amigos, en mi opinión, creo que nunca estaremos preparados para tomar esta decisión como seres humanos que somos, ya que siempre no queremos vivir esta difícil y triste decisión.

Pero viéndolo desde un punto de vista lógico, en el caso de mi hermana, se utilizaron todos los recursos médicos y tecnológicos, ya que estuvo con varios aparatos para salvarla, aún sabiendo que casi todos sus órganos vitales estaban destruidos. Es decir que habiéndose salvado de la muerte iba a quedar en estado vegetal; cosa que en vida incluso sugirió a sus hijas que si algún día le pasaba algo parecido prefería morir. Y miren lo que pasó, literalmente los médicos y sus hijas cumplieron su triste e indeseada petición.

Here I am again present to answer #125 to the question proposed by our friend @tibalre about Euthanasia, such an interesting topic because the word Euthanasia is so controversial that it is easy to pronounce but has a great emotional weight.

1️⃣ According to the Internet, Euthanasia is the intervention voluntarily accepted by the patient and performed by a medical professional, which accelerates the death of a terminally ill person, with the intention of avoiding unnecessary suffering and pain. Do you agree with this way of dying, do you think it dignifies the person in their decision of how to leave, or on the contrary, do you think it should not be practiced? I could argue.

In my opinion euthanasia will always be a difficult decision to make because I have always had in mind that life is a gift from God and that he gives it to us and takes it away, that is what I have had in mind since I have knowledge and based on my religious beliefs. Now when that loved one that one loves and prays to save and there are no alternatives I believe that it is there that with our pain and sadness we would get to see him leave than to see him suffer.

I will now share with you the reason for my response today, as briefly as possible, to the euthanasia of a family member almost two years ago.

I have commented on several occasions that my older sister passed away of covid 19, but we did not know from the very beginning how her unfortunate departure was.
My eldest niece, daughter of the deceased, tells us that her mother's death was finally by Euthanasia, why? It turns out that she was taken to a hospital in the capital of Costa Rica called San Jose, where she was admitted with an embolism and was immediately intubated for an induced coma. In that hospital she was given all the necessary care from oxygen to the dialysis machine since her kidneys were paralyzed. But what about all this? The doctors were fighting to save my sister's life, they even used everything they had at their disposal, but the days passed and hope was running out; it was then when the doctors decided to call their second daughter to record audio recordings of her and my mother's voices so they could play them to my sister to see if she reacted when she heard them and what happened? What happened? What was expected happened. My sister heard them and reacted but her reaction gave her a heart attack 😔 There was disappointment for everyone, both the doctors and her daughters.

The 3 specialist doctors who were treating my sister met by phone with two of my niece's doctors and said these words to them,
"We have made a decision, we are going to make the last attempt, but if she does not react between now and tomorrow, we will connect her in the afternoon, because there would be nothing more to do".

And so it was that fateful day when on the morning of May 26, 2021 she had another heart attack in the morning, and the decision was made in the afternoon at 4:30 pm, she underwent passive (or negative) Euthanasia: by omission (abstention or withdrawal of therapies). And Voluntary Euthanasia: The decision is made by the patient directly or by third parties obeying the patient's previously expressed wishes._Fuente

Friends, in my opinion, I believe that we will never be prepared to make this decision as human beings that we are, since we always do not want to live this difficult and sad decision.

But looking at it from a logical point of view, in the case of my sister, all medical and technological resources were used, since she was with several devices to save her, even knowing that almost all her vital organs were destroyed. That is to say that having been saved from death she was going to remain in a vegetative state; something that in life she even suggested to her daughters that if someday something similar happened to her, she would prefer to die. And look what happened, literally the doctors and his daughters fulfilled his sad and unwanted request.
