The Adulthood Epiphany

I have always wanted to be an adult since I was a kid.

Adulthood and adult people fascinated me quite a lot back in the days because I would believe childhood to be a restricted era of one's life and adulthood to be a fun and free one. Upon finally turning into an adult, my brain chemistry quickly altered when life started taking unexpected turns. All of a sudden, I found myself responsible for a number of things that I never thought I needed to be and the worst part is that every life-changing and significant decision had to be taken in this very phase. Studies, career, marriage, settlement, family, friends, health, learning new skills, quitting old habits, sacrificing passions, leaving home and the list goes on.
The only relief, which may sound very wicked, was when I realized that I wasn't alone in this. Every other adult was suffering from the same illness, atleast on this planet. Most adults will relate to me when I say that adulthood is not as free and leisure as we thought it to be. The freedom in adulthood accompanies responsibility and a lot of hormonal change too which makes sure that the challenges do not die off.
Having being so eager to be adult that I let my childhood slide in hurry, I would love to go back to being a child again and seriously consider the warnings I was given in advance to enjoy being a free and careless child as long as it lasts.
