Apple Developers Ban Mining

Apple has expanded their developer guidelines for the iphone to include a ban on mining. The initial reason stated for the ban was the fact that mining activites have a negative effect on devices. Mining cryptocurrency would severely drain battery power. The mining could also cause devices to overheat which could lead to damage.

The mining ban includes any apps that are running on the network as well. This regulation is a good thing for consumers. The ban will help consumers avoid apps which may have mining running in the background unbeknownst to the consumer. These types of apps will no longer be allowed.
