  • For thousands of years literacy was exclusive to the elites of the world and historians always pondered what life for the common man was like. Today, thanks to social media, we can safely assume they had nothing all that important to say (source).

  • People get depressed by social media because they're comparing their real lives with their friends' highlight reels (source).

  • Old people are certainly capable of learning how to use social media, but they just don't give a fuck.

  • In the future, when historians are reasearching about historical figures, they will be able to go and look at their old social profiles.

  • Facebook is ubiquitous, but has a reputation for low-quality content. It's become the Walmart of social media (source).

  • There should be an option to acknowledge a post instead of "like" it on Facebook when some sort of tragedy happens.

  • Single moms on social media are the new cat ladies (source).

  • At least pornhub doesn't have a social media button that shares to linkedin (source).

  • The vast majority of people on social media will be dead 100 years from now.

  • When a computer eventually becomes sentient, I hope it makes a social media post before wiping out all humanity (e.g. "You guyz suck, lol!!1") (source).
