There's one plant nursery that we never skip when going to Sintra. It's actually somewhere between Sintra and Cabo da Roca (the westernmost piece of land in continental Europe). It definitely deserves a visit too, just remember to put some rocks in your pockets so the wind doesn't take you :p

These next fellas were bought at that evil nursery that keeps pulling money out of my pockets.

Normally it's my wife who picks the lucky ones, but this time it was different, it was love at first sight. The moment I saw them I knew they would go home with me.

She didn't even want them.
She... the woman who would have a specimen from each plant in the planet on her balcony if she could!

One of each except these poor fellas I guess...
That made me want them even more, at that moment it became personal!

They're name is Avonia papyracea.

They basically look like tiny pinky fingers covered with fish scales.

How freaking cool is that?
