Love The Olympics

I love the Olympics. Both summer and winter. Not because of the nationalism or the glitzy media surrounding it. But because, at the risk of sounding arrogant, I competed at a pretty high level for awhile in my sport, achieved some pretty good things and took my shot at it. This is my pin from the OTC from 1986. It wasn’t until I got there did I realize how truly amazing at their sports these athletes are. The realization that as much as I had done, they were THAT much better than me. They train in anonymity, many live in near poverty so that they can train daily. Their names for the most part will never be known except for two weeks. And everything comes down to one competition. Love it.
