Not Granted | Short Story
I want that thing to happen, an event waiting to be held, a highlight in the making, a masterpiece that will soon be revealed. Everything seems to conspire against me. It is like the universe finds a way to give me an opposite reaction to my desired motion. I was in the brink of having you, only few feets away from impatient arms that can't wait to caress you and shackle you forever. The proximity didn't matter because I didn't have you in absolute. Some things will never be given a chance but the thought of it to be non-existent is already a lesson. A lesson that will teach us to make that thing count, to treasure it because we have been in the tragic scenario of almost having it, almost having it. By the time it will be granted to us, we can be at our best because we have been yearning for it for a long time. After all the time that the universe has been selfish for us, it gave us the time to work ourselves out so we can be at our ripest moment when the dream we had will be something we already possess.
