Short Stories about coffee
This is a story about coffee, a drink made from roasted and ground coffee beans. This coffee bean is a commodity that is cultivated in more than 50 countries. There are two most popular types of coffee today, robusta and arabica.
Do you know how coffee is processed before it can be drunk? The process is long, starting from how farmers identify superior coffee beans before they are harvested, drying coffee beans, and how coffee is sorted into logs.
The coffee that has become logs is then roasted, then ground or ground into coffee powder before it can be drunk.
I managed to record all of these processes on a trip to a coffee plantation in the Gayo highlands, Bener Meriah, with smartphone camera some time ago. These are some frames of activities of traditional coffee farmers in the area, in a festival that was held directly in the coffee plantation area.
