The rats soon realized they had met their match and ran away in fear. Sir Whiskers chased them out of the cellar and locked the door behind them. He then returned to the cheese and inspected it for damage. He found that most of it was still intact, except for a few bites here and there. He shrugged and said, "Well, no one is perfect." He then helped himself to a generous slice of cheese and enjoyed his reward for a job well done.
