Maggie Appears From The Shadows

This is the first time since Maggie joined our family 5 years ago that she has come into our living room, and settled down next to us on the couch.

Maggie is usually very reclusive, living in the shadows and in her own "safe" spaces throughout the house, only socialising with us in those areas. Last night she must have decided that the lounge was now one if her safe spaces, and jumped up onto the cushion on the couch. Today, she came when I called her, and settled in next to me.

She is a little skitty here, but this is a huge step for her to come out of her usual areas, and to actually stay any amount of time without jumping up and running away.

Patience and persistance with making Maggie feel comfortable in the open spaces seems to be working. Charlie, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be impressed with Maggie creeping into his hangout space. He gets that evil eye look when he sees her here, and walks off to another room.
