The Octopider is neither a Spider Or Octopus

Greetings my fellow SplinterLands Warriors, For those who don't know me I am @bluhat and I play in the Bronze League, I am not a bot, but a real hands on player. Most seasons I finish in the Top 20 on the Ladder. I want to share some game knowledge, tips and secrets with you.

In this post I will feature a battle using the Octopider monster and describe a little know trick/strategy I use to give me an edge with this monster card.

THEME: OCTOPIDER

This weeks Featured card is the Octopider, with a list of two abilities and the first one only active a level three as a bronze play i don't have the demoralise in this battle. However because i have the gold foil I can use an epic summoner and then he will allow my rare cards to play at level three, this is a tactic i love to use a lot in the bronze league to devastating advantage.

• ATTACK: RANGED
• ABILITIES: Demoralize at level 3; Blind at level 7

My thoughts on this battle are a heavy range assault, but with some front line support to stop the ranged attacker from reaching the first position, so with this in mind this is how i place my team.

1. Haunted Spirit - Health and healing
2. Skeletal worrier - shields and low mana
3. Shadowy Presence - Health and low mana
4. Octopider - Range attack and Health
5. Soulstorm - Range attack and speed
6. Grim Reaper - Range attack and affliction ability

The plan worked out perfectly and non of my ranged monster got to the front position even though the opponent had a speed advantage the resulted in a few missed shots bit the higher attack damage was devastating once it connected, resulting in a instant kill that round.

Conclusion To Octopider

He is no doubt a power house to the Death Splinters line up with a powerful attack at range and also a decent amount of hit points to his health stats, the only downside is the high mana cost meaning that he is not usable in low mana matches.
