Do never use expensive and fragile tools!

Hey.

I disassembled my mtb because its frame broke and got my hands on an old mtb frame. I want to give it a new life with a neat look. But to do it I had to demontage the pedal crank. I have not the special tool for it and didnt want to buy it only for one use. I dont have the money for it.

My thought was, hey why not just going to the bicycle shop with my frame and ask them, if i could use their tool for a minute. The woman behind the counter told me that the tools are really expensive and they cant give it to me, but she could sell it(lol)

It must be a real wondertool, to be so expensive and fragile, not allowing them to borrow it for a bit of money.

So I just went to the vehicle workshop near the bikestore and asked them to help me. These guys were really nice and awesome. We were trying to get rid of the crank for like 15 minutes and talked a little bit. Sure they didnt have the right tool but we thought bout solutions and we made it together! They didnt even want money.

Tomorrow I'll pay them a visit and give them Kreppel, donuts and icecoffe for the hot days in germany. There still are nice people in this place.

Btw never, never buy expensive fragile tools, unless it cleans your house and cooks you a nice dinner!!

Ps. The so called fragile wondertool
