A Guide To Explore Splinterlands with FAQs PART 1

Splinterlands has been witnessing an enormous influx of new players due to so many collaborations that has been taking place and are yet to take place. The new players that join in come up with a lot of questions as they explore the game. I have tried to address a few of those questions here. I hope these answers help them in their journey as they have helped in mine.

Starting The Game

Question 1

: How to start playing Splinterlands? Can I play without buying anything?

Answer

: Follow the steps mentioned below -

Open the game (use a referral link to get a free card later) : Splinterlands
Create an account and choose a password.
Go through the tutorial to understand the basics or just skip it for later.
You can now check out the game for free.

NOTE: Sicne you haven't bought anything, you get a random name and a few cards to try the game. You will not start earning.

Question 2

: How to change the name?

Answer

: To be able to change the random name given to you, you need to buy the 10$ spellbook. This will be your one time investment (Just like buying a game from market). Follow the steps mentioned below - (Special thanks to

Step 1: Click the "shop" tab and choose how you would like to buy the spellbook. Remeber to use a referral link. Referral link will give you a free card!

Step 2: Now you can choose any name you want.

Step 3: You now have the option to get your keys which give you access to the game. They are very important and if you lose them you will lose your account. Keep them safe. Never share it with anyone.

If you used a referral link, you would see that there is a gift waiting for you. Open it and see what you got!

Question 3

: What all do I get from buying the 10$ spellbook?

Answer

Basically, you can start earning from the game and the other things mentioned here are a bonus. DO REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A ONE TIME INVESTMENT.

NOTE: You will find that there are a few cards already present in your account. They are referred to as ghost cards. You don't own them. They are there to help you play the game.

Earning From The Game

Question 1

: How can I start earning from the game?

Answer

: You just need to buy the 10$ spellbook. Its your one time investment that will enable you to start earning by playing.

Question 2

: How much can I earn from the game?

Answer

: It depends on a lot of things. I will try to answer this question in simple words without using terms that new players won't understand -

When you start the game, your league is low, so you get less by winning games. (You never lose money by losing games). In money terms, you will get 0.00008$ by winning 10 games.
As you rise in leagues you will start earning more. For instance, Players in higher leagues have managed to earn 1$ per win.
You get bonus rewards by completing daily quests which can range from 0.00004$ to 150$+

Remember that there is no easy money. The more you invest the more you get out of the game.

: How to maximize my earnings?

Answer

: There is an easy way and then there is a time consuming way - the easy way is to spend 1000s of $ and live off the returns you get. But I know you will be interested in the other ways-

1. Play Delegated accounts.
Ask on discord for accounts to play- Splinterlands and DEC101. You get 50% of everything from the delegated account you play.

2. Complete Daily quests
They give you extra rewards just for playing.

3. Pray for an awesome End of season rewards.
Season starts and ends every 14-15days and gives a lot of rewards.

4. Do some trading: buying at low price selling at higher price.
You will need to keep an eye on the market. Buy the cards from Monster Market as it gives a little cashback and sell the card from the game itself.

5. Win matches, winning streaks give you extra money.

6. Win tournaments
Start off with the novice tournaments. Its totally based on skills and you won't be at any disadvantage. I will let you know how to become competitive in these tournaments in other section.

7.Take part in giveaways which happen on- discord, twitch, twitter, youtube, telegram

Answer

There are guilds that ask for a monthly payment for benefits that they provide. But there are other guilds which are open and don't require any fee. For new players, its better to join those open and free guilds.

Miscellaneous

Question 1

: What is Monster Maverick Status in Discord?

Answer

: You need to buy 500+ untamed packs (not DICE) to become a monster maverick in splinterlands' discord. There used to be perks attached to it in the early days but now it is limited to a private channel and access to a test net server.
