Holy Week - Is It Biblical? ~ MCGI Topic Review.

I don’t think it is proper to set a basic day for sabbath like Saturday or Sunday. Sabbath can also fall on anyday of the week. Today can be sabbath and tomorrow can be sabbath as well.

Many Catholicans say that Jesus Christ died on a Friday. After what I have learnt from Brother Eli and other pastors, it is confirmed that it isn’t true. That’s not all. There are even some superstitions that follows it like you can’t eat meat on a Friday and other things of such. Just as Brother Eli would say, “those are crazy teachings”.

A proof that Jesus Christ didn’t resurrect on Sunday is in Matthew 28:1 which says; In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.

It began to dawn towards the first day of the week which doesn’t mean it really happened or truly happened on the first day of the week. That talks about the resurrection of Jesus Christ which led to the history of what we call sabbath today.

In that year, there were two sabbaths. There was the preparation of sabbath which happened on Wednesday and sabbath itself which was on Thursday. At the same time, there were different kinds of sabbath among the jews.
Some sabbaths can fall during the day of the week which is mostly done by the jews for their yearly sabbaths.

John 19:31 says; The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was a high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

That’s for the jews which tells you that different people or different Christian can have different days of sabbath.
