Lewis's *Narnia* saga, you’d never imagine it is inspired—in a way—by biblical events or figures, and that there are certain aspects where the parallels are fascinating to analyze. Apuesto que si ustedes mo han leído la saga de Narnia de C.S Lewis jamás imaginarán que está inspirada de cierta manera en hechos biblicos o en personajes e la biblia y que hay ciertos aspectos en los cuales hay un gran paralelismo muy interesante de analizar ¿me acompañan en el proceso?

Right from the start—in the first book, *The Magician's Nephew*—we witness the origin of Narnia, mirroring the creation of the world in Genesis: darkness emerges first, followed by all other elements. With Aslan as the Creator, Narnia comes into being essentially through his voice—his song—and he subsequently chooses a man and a woman from our world to reign over the land. Aslan distinguishes between talking and non-talking animals and establishes rules for all regarding their conduct; in this sense, he serves as a parallel to the Creator—to God Himself. Then there is the White Witch, Jadis, who embodies evil—Satan himself; she is treacherous and constantly seeks to tempt others into falling, ceaselessly inciting evil while unable to bear the purity and majesty of Aslan.

Then there is Edmund (one of the four Pevensie siblings); in a way, he represents human weakness and the tendency toward sin. He succumbs to temptation but is subsequently redeemed by Aslan’s sacrifice. And here we return to Aslan—the great lion—who stepped down from his pedestal and cast aside his solemnity to allow himself to be killed by the Witch and her army of repulsive creatures, solely out of love for Narnia. Just as Christ died for the world to redeem it from sin, Aslan gave his life; there is even a scene where he tells Lucy (another of the Pevensie siblings), "In your world, I have another name." Indeed, C.S. Lewis stated that he created Narnia and Aslan as a way to encourage children and young people to come to know Jesus.

There are also other parallels involving an apple tree and a garden evocative of Eden, the constant temptation of the main character by the witch Jadis, and the Fall of Man—which enabled her rise to power and plunged Narnia into a cold winter—though a living hope still lingered in the air: Aslan and his aid. *The Last Battle* is also inspired, in a way, by the Book of Revelation: false prophets (an orangutan posing as Aslan), false gods promising greater efficacy than Aslan (such as Tash), and great chaos preceding an infinite, definitive calm. Then there is the train incident that ultimately united the worlds, as well as the constant emphasis that only children—that is, the innocent—may enter Narnia.
