VINNY'S DEADLY SUSPICION

Hello everyone, you're welcome to my blog today.

Today I'll be sharing a story about suspiciona creative non-fiction story. Suspicion could be when we have a certain kind of instinct that tells us that something is not right or shows us that something wrong is going on. It could also be a good one where we are suspicious that someone wants to surprise us; maybe someone is planning a birthday party for a friend, and somehow the friend becomes suspicious because of the activities that suggest something they don’t know about is about to happen. Let's dive right into the story.

Vinny is a young girl who just got admission into the university in the year 2016. It has indeed been a chaotic one for the family, struggling to meet the financial needs of training her through school, and now it was time to go to the higher institution. Vinny came from a family of four: her mother, her father, and her two brothers. They were all older than her, but unfortunately, they were not well-to-do; the family was basically surviving at an average level.

Vinny's dad suffered from a partial stroke when she was just six years old. It all happened on a very good morning when her dad woke up healthy and said he wanted to go out. Vinny became suspicious as her father was not the early morning kind of person who just wakes up and decides to go out. She asked him why he was going out, and he said that he needed to go and pick up the Nigerian flag which he had put in front of his house that had fallen down. Only for him to go out to pick up the flag, and he came back and slumped, and that was how the partial stroke happened.

That aside, they took him to the hospital, and the doctor did all they could, and he was finally discharged. He continued to live his life as a civil servant despite the partial stroke; it did not hinder him. Then at some point, her father was made the king of their village. Despite his disability, he took up the position.

Vinny, who had come of age at this point, felt skeptical about the whole thing. She had always heard bad stories about kinship and leadership, especially when it related to villages and traditions. A lot of things can go wrong; people lose their lives if you’re not fortified. She was warned not to put her hands into politics or try to be a traditional ruler.

She always had this suspicion that something bad was going to happen or something was going to go wrong at some point. But who would she talk to? Who would hear her out? She talked to her mother, but her mother didn’t see anything wrong with it. Her mother said that it was the community that helped her dad travel out for his studies, and now that he’s back, they want him to be their king, so why not?

It seemed everything went on really for quite a couple of years about 16 years and then tragedy struck. On a very good day when Vinny came back from school (their university was on break), they were all having dinner when all of a sudden her dad slumped back on his chair, his eyes rolled over in his head. Her mother panicked, “Andy, what is happening? What is happening?” she yelled. “Vinny, hold your dad! Call your brothers for me!”

They rushed him to the hospital, but it was already too late; he had already been diagnosed with a full stroke, no longer a partial stroke. Vinny's suspicions hit louder than ever. She told her mother, “I knew it! A day like this would come when they would want to snatch my father's life. I warned you before all this, and you never paid attention to me.”

Things never got better; they only went down the drain. He became very sick and couldn't do anything for himself; he needed intensive care. They tried their best to give him the care that he needed, but being stuck in bed for a very long time made him start developing bed sores. His skin started peeling off, he stopped eating, and they had to have a tube passed through his nose for him to be able to eat.

While all this was going on, Vinny was in school. She would always come back over the weekend to take care of her dad. She did this for quite a long time. It kind of distracted her from her studies, but what could she do? A girl needed to be close to her father. She always suspected that her father would not make it out of the sickness alive because he was going down gradually and fast.

One very good day while she was in school, they had a football match that morning, and she attended with her roommates. That was when she got a call from her brother telling her that her dad had died. As much as she had always suspected that it was going to end that way, it hurt her so much because she was very close to her dad.

Suspicions are very real, and I've come to realize that anytime I suspect something bad is going to happen, 99% of the time it happens. And anytime I suspect something good is going to happen, 99% of the time it happens. Suspicions are more like us trusting our instincts to lead us right or to lead us wrong.

Maybe if her family had listened to her when she told them about how she felt about the kinship, her father would have still been alive. Finally, she lost her dad, and she lost her elder sister too. Suspicions are always real and should not be treated lightly.
