Making New Friends in the Paradise of Menorca, Spain
The afternoon was drawing to a close amid laughter and glances. The sun had been beating down since noon, revealing one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever had the blessing of visiting.
Golden and orange sand, alongside paths that looked as if they’d been dyed with iron, made of reddish rock and gravel. The undulating terrain traced harmonious green silhouettes, full of grasses and shrubs.
Northern Menorca was beginning to captivate me, in that almost instantaneous moment, like when you get a crush after a single glance.
It was as if the sea were enveloping me and as if the chatter and laughter of the people around me were seducing me with whispers in my ears.

That afternoon, I found myself giving thanks over and over again—for stepping outside my comfort zone, for changing my plans, for allowing myself to take that trip to Cavallería, one of Menorca’s most famous beaches. Famous for its pink sand, famous because its landscape looks like something out of prehistory, and it’s as if time itself stands still there.
There’s no cell service there, and for a few hours, life is simply about enjoying that exact moment. The sun, the warm sand, the crystal-clear, cool water, the views, and of course, the company.
We didn’t know who would arrive or when, we couldn’t communicate, we didn’t know if anyone had posted some story irrelevant to our lives on social media, and we didn’t know if anyone was trying to contact us—just for a few hours.
Do you know what we did?
We played ball in the ocean, went for a group hike, took photos, laughed, soaked up the sun, shared details of our lives, exchanged a little Italian for Spanish, made plans for the future together, and went paddleboarding.
Cavallería Beach was all ours—a group of near-strangers who happened to meet in a corner of Menorca about three weeks ago.
Lots of earth signs, lots of Virgos like me, lots of environmental awareness. A beautiful energy—the kind that makes you want to hug people, but above all, to be grateful.
Today I’m sharing this place with a touch of poetry and a hint of what it means to be human. The landscape is breathtaking, and I’ve tried my best to describe it, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. I invite you to close your eyes as you look at them, to breathe in the scent of the grass, to feel the warmth of the sun, to feel your warm body immersing itself in cool water—I invite you to imagine laughter.
Because often a place “is” defined by the people who are bringing it to life at that moment.
Enjoy it!!
