Mass Indoctrination Service Day Eleven

Wow another wonderful day in God's presence and this time we were taught the importance of pledges and vows.

Growing up my aunt always told me "A promise is a debt so ensure you don't say what you won't fulfill". This words are now part and parcel of my every day life. It is same when it comes to the things of God. Vows and pledges are our solemn promise to GOD. We must all nite that with or without our vows or pledges the work of God will still advance. We must try not to make vows base on feelings of base on others. Maybe when we see others doing so we also want to do so. That alone will nullify any blessing that is accrued to that vow of pledge.

Our vows should always be between us and our God, we do not have to televise it to the entire congregation. Moreover when God wakes you up every morning He doesn't have to make enquiries or tell anyone before He does so. Our vows must be from our heart and should not be forced

I realized that the contributions in church must be according to what we have decided in our hearts to give, rather than being forced to do so in order to reap the benefits of a happy heart.

As Christians, we do not need to be told everything to do. Base on the word of God we hear, we ought always to know what is good or bad in the sight of God. To accomplish our responsibilities, we must be willing to participate and learn. Ananias and his wife, according to the Bible, made a promise and then broke it by lying about the price they sold their land for, for which God killed them.

We must all give according to what God has purposed in our heart.

Points Gathered From The Teaching.

1. Vows is a solemn commitment that should be fulfilled.

2. Vows are not compulsory or shouldn't be forced on anyone.

3. Contributions shouldn't have a stipulated price. It must be what he/she purposes in their heart.

4. Giving should be from our heart.

5. God's commandments is love and the proof of love is giving, so as Christians giving should be part and part of us.
