8GB vs 16GB System memory in modern games Witcher 3 GTA V

8 gigabytes of system memory vs 16 gigabytes of memory for gaming, is it worth it? does it make a difference ? I noticed that some modern games are starting to exceed 7 gigabytes of system memory usage which made me wonder if 8 gigabytes is still all you need to get a good gaming experience with minimum stutter and
hitching.
