9 ocak 2007'de apple ceo'su (hede: steve jobs) tarafından ilk lansmanı yapılmış, o lansmanda da belirttiği gibi adeta telefonun yeniden icat edilmesine yol açan bir cihazdır.
o tarihten bu yana geçen 11 yılda 14 farklı modeli çıkmış hepsi kapış kapana satılmıştır.
ben de 5 ekim 2011 sabahı steve jobs'un ölüm haberini iphone'dan öğrenmiş biri olarak 6 farklı modelini kullandım (3gs, 4, 5, 5s, 6plus ve x) kendimi (hede: ios) vs (hede: android) kıyaslamasında kesinlikle ios'cu olarak hissediyorum.
