Complacency is a drug
Complacency is a drug.... the more you take the more you expect it to fix things. Society tells you, it’s better if you don’t do anything about your life. The corporation will fix it, your parents will fix it, your spouse will fix it, other people will fix it. But unfortunately, most people don’t fix things. They just expect them to get better. We have been lulled into an ignorant form of optimism. Where we feel that without any effort, nor self-purification that things will just start working.
Technology will do the hard spiritual or emotional work for us somehow. But in fact, nothing fixes itself without effort. We have to get into self-improvement, forget fixing everything or everyone in the world; that is a case by case codependency analysis... not everything is meant to be fixed. But you can bet your bottom dollar every bead of sweat spent making yourself better will help you more than complacency ever will.
