A Category 6 hurricane is not officially recognized in the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which categorizes hurricanes from Category 1 to Category 5 based on sustained wind speeds. Category 5 hurricanes have winds exceeding 157 mph (252 km/h).
