In Splinterlands there are different types of card sets. You can buy any variant of a card and add it to your deck. I think the Black Variant is the most expensive but it also looks the most beautiful.

Today I will talk about the Silver Shield Sentry which belongs to the Black Variant card set. This is a monster card that you can use on the front line or you can place it in the back line and take full advantage of its ranged attack.

It also has very special abilities. In other words it is a versatile card that you can use effectively in almost any position... That is why adding cards like this to your deck is important because they give you flexibility in every battle and every ruleset...

First lets talk about the appearance of this monster card. It looks like a Lion warrior character wearing full battle armor. Since it is part of the Black Variant card set it has a black background with a beautiful shine.

It is holding a bow and arrows in both hands and is ready to attack enemy units from a distance and destroy them. It has excellent powers and abilities that make this monster very dangerous.

CARD STATS

This is a 9mana monster card that belongs to the Life element. It is best used in medium to high mana battles although sometimes it can also be useful in low mana battles.

As I mentioned, it is a ranged attacker. At its maximum level it has 5 ranged attack power, meaning it can deal 5 damage to enemy units every round.

Since it is a ranged attacker it is better to place it anywhere except the front line. In my opinion the best position for it is the middle position because it also has good armor.

Talking about its armor, it has 5 armor which protects its health. Any melee or ranged attacker must first destroy its armor before damaging its health except for magic attackers who deal damage directly to health.

The monster also has 5 health which represents its life. Since it already has 5 armor having lower health is not a big problem. However it is still better to pair it with a healer monster so that its health can be restored during battle.

It also has 3 speed which increases its attack speed and also helps enemy attacks miss.

Now let's talk about this monster card's abilities. At the maximum level it has three special abilities such as Close Range, Bulwark and Rebirth.

CLOSE RANGE

As I mentioned earlier you can place this monster on either the front line or the back line. Its first ability, Close Range allows exactly that.

With Close Range this monster can still attack even when it is in the first position. Normally ranged attackers cannot attack from the first position but this ability gives it the flexibility to do so.

BULWARK

---

The second special ability is Bulwark. When you place this monster in the first position, its attack power is reduced by 2. So if it has 5 ranged attack it drops to 3.

However it gains +8 health and +8 armor. This is one of its strongest abilities. That is why placing it on the front line makes it much tougher at the start of the battle.

REBIRTH

---

The third excellent ability is Rebirth. When this monster dies it comes back to life. It returns with 100% of its armor restored.

For example if it had 8 armor, it comes back with all 8 armor again. However it only has 1 health after reviving.

If it is not hit by a magic attack, Rebirth allows it to survive for another 3 to 4 rounds where it can continue absorbing damage from melee and ranged attackers.

These are its three special abilities along with its excellent powers which make this card quite expensive.

PRICE AND RENTING

Unfortunately this monster card is very expensive. When I checked the market today I could not even find one at the lower levels.

It is a very rare card and players do not want to sell it at the early levels. At Level 10 its price ranges from $40 to $80.

Since this card is very rare you also cannot find it for rent. It is not available in the rental market.

So if you want to add this card to your deck the only option is to buy it for between $40 and $80 and then enjoy its powerful abilities and strengths.
