The Lost Certainty

It no longer feels like an ordinary disappointment

as if darkness slowly seeped into the way you understand humans

everything after that seemed different in a way that is hard to explain

Faces became more obscure

words less innocent

and intentions appear as something untrustworthy no matter how pure they seem

The mind tried to grasp the idea that conscience is fixed within humans

that love does not turn

that loyalty does not change

that kindness is not used as a weapon against its owner

But what happened was not a slap

it was not a passing betrayal

it was a fracture in the structure of perception

The mind does not see reality as it is but as it expects it to be

and when surprise comes

not only is the other revealed but you feel that the idea of humanity has become incomprehensible

How did love turn into a tool and loyalty into weakness and honesty into a mistake

Here I stopped interacting not because I no longer trust what I see

silence here is a withdrawal from a reality that is no longer understandable

as if you stopped interacting not because you ended but because you no longer trust what you see

Has conscience truly disappeared or were we only seeing it as we wished

maybe

maybe the world has not changed as we think

maybe what changed is the angle of vision

maybe conscience was never as clear as we imagined

Pain does not remain in what others did

it remains in your perception that you were not seeing as you should

maybe we are the ones who lost the ability to distinguish its voice from the start
