Harvest time

Greetings, friends.
Last time, I was thinking about growing broccoli and showed my harvest.
This morning I noticed that there are more than a dozen pears under the pear tree. I tasted them, and it turned out that they were quite ripe. Therefore, it is necessary to harvest the crop. But first I had to take the dog for a walk.
I made a work plan for today in the garden and announced it to my wife. She crossed out the item "to prune honeysuckle and blackcurrant bushes." She said we should rest today.

When I was picking pears, I put them in my T-shirt. I didn't have any container for them in my hands.

For some reason, in the old days it seemed to me that pears should ripen later than apples. But in fact, the opposite is true.
So. My task is to collect the pears, but not all of them. I'll leave the ones on the tree that are still green and don't come off well.
You also need to try not to let the pears fall down, so they don't get damaged and can be stored longer.

My wife helped me with the harvest. I used a stepladder to get to the pears on the upper branches, my wife held a stepladder and a bucket into which I put the pears. Then she moved the pears out of the bucket and into the baskets.
Some might say that we came up with a complicated harvesting scheme, but it was more fun that way.

Of course, my wife and I ate a few pears right next to the tree. It's always very tasty!

We took about 30 kilograms of pears from the tree. We'll put them in the fridge so they can be stored until the moment we eat them. There are still about 20 kilograms left on the tree.
We have 3 pear trees. One tree is without fruit this year. On the third tree, pears are not very tasty fresh, so we make compotes from them.

We decided to cook eggplant for dinner. Everything is very simple. It is believed that eggplants need to be kept in water for a while so the bitterness disappears. But there is no bitterness in fresh eggplant; it is soft and cooks very quickly. We use an aerogrill for cooking them. This is a very necessary appliance in the kitchen. I bought it in December last year, and now we often use it for cooking, even more often than the stove. Well, yes, we also like to use a slow cooker. She's been in our kitchen for about 10 years. I did the math, and it turned out that it was already 14 years old.

Wow, a round light eggplant has a soft skin. My wife said that this variety tastes better than usual.

Instead of dessert, there were strawberries on our table today. I got about a liter and a half of them. It was the same last Saturday.
These strawberries will delight us with berries before the onset of cold weather. But in autumn, its taste is not as intense as it is now.
