In this blog, I want to take you all to explore some of the Jaboi tourist village area. Jaboi tourist village is one of the developing villages in Sabang City, also known as Pulau Weh. Besides being located between beautiful beaches and stunning mountains, Jaboi tourist village is also blessed with various natural uniqueness, one of which is an active volcano with four craters, which I have shared in my previous blog.

So, keep following my simple blog to see other aspects of this tourist village.

When people hear about Pulau Weh, the first thing that comes to mind is Iboih Beach and its famous 0 km Monument. But this time, I want to take you all to a different place, a place that's still cool, quiet, and has a story about a volcano. It's called Jaboi Tourism Village. At the beginning of my journey, I was immediately greeted by a sign and cool air.
The trip to Jaboi Village takes 30 minutes by motorcycle from Sabang City. In my personal experience, the road begins to climb, and the air changes completely from the typical coastal heat to a cool and fresh atmosphere with a very calm atmosphere. Upon arrival, the first thing that greeted me was Jaboi Tourism Village, and I saw several pamphlets that said it was safe, orderly, clean, and beautiful.

Apart from that, in this village we can follow a relaxing forest path, where we need to go a little deeper and the tracking path is starting to appear. The dirt path is covered with dry leaves on the left and right sides, the tall trees stand close together, the sun only comes in through the gaps in the leaves which makes the light effect very aesthetic, the atmosphere in this area is very quiet where I only heard the sound of birds, the sound of the wind, and also the footsteps of several visitors.

Regarding facilities, this tourist destination area also boasts adequate facilities, similar to those found at other tourist attractions in Aceh, such as a prayer room and several gazebos for visitors to rest.

Jaboi tourist village is one of the villages in Indonesia included in the top 50 in the 2024 Indonesian Tourism Village Award held by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. This village promotes the concept of a tourist village that aims for world-class green tourism. Furthermore, this village has long had a natural conservation program, which is crucial for green tourism. It is also supported by Mount Merapi tourism and hot springs sourced directly from the crater. I have personally shared several previous blogs about the extraordinary volcano in Jaboi Village, which has left me in awe.

As I mentioned above, the Jaboi tourist village is unique because it's located right at the foot of Mount Jaboi, an active volcano, but it's safe to visit, and its volcanic activity still persists.

As I walked along the calming forest path, the atmosphere was incredibly quiet, but this is my favorite part of Jaboi village.
I think this village cleverly combines nature tourism with conservation. There are small gazebos for resting, and there are signs, but the natural environment is left wild and pristine. There's no litter, no music. Just a 15-30 minute walk allows you to experience the atmosphere transforming from forest to harder, rocky, barren land. The air begins to smell a faint hint of sulfur, indicating that you're close to the volcanic energy of Mount Jaboi, one of the tourist destinations within Jaboi tourist village.

You can also enjoy various activities within the village, including camping and riding ATVs on the designated trails around the forest area of ​​Jaboi tourist village.

This is a village that has natural conservation which is important for green tourism supported by Mount Merapi tourism and hot springs that come directly from the crater, therefore we often find several activities carried out for the purpose of nature conservation, one of which is planting trees for tourists and you can see the results of this nature conservation where this tree has been around for decades and has survived until today.

This village is unique compared to other villages, both in terms of food and snacks. It also has its own characteristics. However, the main tourist destination is the Merapi crater, where there are also hot springs. Most importantly, conservation is crucial for green tourism. In my personal opinion, nature conservation is crucial for green tourism.

On one side, we can see green hills, but on the other, I'm standing on volcanic soil that's still breathing. For me, this is a stark contrast. The coolness of the forest meets the warmth of the earth. Here, I wondered for a moment how two such different landscapes can exist in one village. The one below is shady, the one above is bold, and both are so beautiful.

Locals say that this area used to be used for therapy. The hot steam from the ground is believed to have health benefits, and now it's also an educational tourist attraction.
