First little Animation
I have always loved animation, I mean everyone loves it but I just have too much respect for animation. My favourite movies are all animated movies up, wall-E, monster inc, spirited away etc. Lately, I've seen some great animations like the boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackery https://www.instagram.com/charliemackesy/ and of course, Disney's Paperman which I shared earlier. These works of animation and storytelling are awe-inspiring. Being able to work on projects like that is one of my dreams. So, to get started I thought of start learning animation.
I took this as my reference picture https://pin.it/7CGJsPd and added animation in it, Also I have made the full time-lapse video of the whole process 😙 this was also a new experience, recording and editing it.
Here are some progress photos of the work.
Rough outline, I used Krita (drawing application) only for animation. and used camtasia for recording the process.
After rough sketching, we fill the colours.
Then tried to smoothen the colours and bring out some texture. Here added some highlights too.
Now time for the background. I liked the background very much more than the character himself for some reason.
Added some highlights in the background and added some rain. have made 3 frames for the rain.
Also animated cape and thunder, the cape was hard. The fabric motion needs some study and my basic doesn't exist at all. Thunder was also hard if one tends to add its effect on the camera, like the lighting of the camera so bright that everything is white for a fraction of a second and also the thunder itself radiates some light outside of its supposed boundary.
The Final picture result.
Final video result : ( this is the full time lapse video, skip to the end part like 10 seconds before the end.)
It was about 8 hrs of work for 4 sec of animation. I think the video will be good for someone who is intimidated by the animation interface and is thinking about starting animation but isn't doing it due to being overwhelmed.
I have also started working a little bit on the basics by following Proko. I would really like to thank @victoradebiyiart for taking the time out to analyse my drawings and giving such constructive advice, now I feel like I can get better. Also thanks to everyone here on Hive who gave so much love to my art. I feel like I have come a long way, I started with traditional portrait drawing casually now I am doing digital art, learning animation, and editing videos and much of the credit goes to everyone here. Especially
@bhattg, who supports me more than I support myself.
That's all for now, I have so many things on mind that I want to do.
