The wait is over the astronauts are returning to Earth
Hey hey everyone! Greetings from wherever you are — Animek here, together with all of us who love science. We’re staying on Earth, but we get to see the results of years of study and progress in knowledge finally paying off. What we’re seeing is our beautiful planet photographed from space, from the Orion spacecraft of the ARTEMIS 2 project, which this Friday, April 10 2026, will return to Earth after spending 10 days in space. The mission seems to be going really well; the astronauts had a few problems but managed to fix them.
Now we can enjoy views of our planet in new ways. Back in the 60s they took photos, but now, with today’s technology, we can capture images with much clearer detail — like in the first picture, where you can see cosmic dust, sunlight reflecting off our planet, and even an aurora borealis.
Both the Moon and Earth have been photographed from different angles and at different moments. It must be an incredible experience to have the privilege of going into space and seeing with your own eyes how magnificent the place we live in truly is.
During these 10 days of live mission broadcasts, they’ve explained a lot for those who don’t know how things work — from planning ideas, checking food, setting coordinates, to how each system on the ship should behave. Today they focused on how the ship and astronauts must prepare to land on Earth. They talked about several scenarios, from the best ones to the worst‑case ones where something could go wrong and the astronauts’ lives could be at risk. But there are many scientists who’ve studied every possibility, so let’s hope nothing bad happens and they come home safely.
We’re just hours away from seeing them arrive. I’ve watched several simulations, so I already have an idea of how this last part of the adventure will go. All the staff are ready to welcome them and review all the material they photographed from the Dark Side of the Moon — a face of our satellite that had only been seen by robots before. Now humans have seen it directly, pushing knowledge forward for future missions planned ahead.
Follow me so you don't miss the next adventure!
