Testing the Multichain Beta: EVM Tutorial and Bug Report[Eng-Spn]
Hey Hive folks! Today we're going to test the new beta version of Hive Keychain Multichain, but in a different way than my previous post. This time, we'll be working with an Ethereum account that's compatible with the EVM. This means that by using the same private key and address, I can access popular networks like Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Chain, and Avalanche. Basically, if you import this account into a multichain wallet, you'll keep the same address across all those networks.
That's exactly what I did: I imported my EVM-compatible address directly into the Hive network using this new keychain update, and in this post, I'll show you the process.
Today's goal is to show you how I successfully imported this EVM address into the Hive network by taking advantage of the keychain's new capabilities.
Step 1
Preparation and Import Start
The first thing I did was back up and have my seed phrase for the Ethereum account I was going to link readily available. With that done, I opened the beta version of Hive Keychain Multichain and went to the profile management menu. As you can see in the image, at the bottom there's now a new option that says "Add Account," which stands out because it includes both the Hive and Ethereum logos. I clicked there to start the process.
Clicking "Add Account" will open the "Installation" window shown in the image. By default, the wallet displays the standard options for the HIVE network. However, since our goal is to integrate an Ethereum address, the next step is to switch tabs and select the button on the right labeled "EVM." Selecting this will change the interface, allowing us to enter the credentials for our compatible address.
Step 2
To enter your 12 MetaMask words, simply do the following:
1- Click the button on the right that says EVM (the one with the orange arrow and the Ethereum logo, just like I show you in the image).
2- When you select it, you'll notice that the options below change completely to adapt to the environment. multi-string.
3-Now, simply look for the option that allows you to import the Seed Phrase (Secret Recovery Phrase or mnemonic), enter your words, and Done!
Here we have my Ethereum account integrated into the new Multichain Keychain Version. It's simple and straightforward, and I hope to have thousands of dollars there very soon, hehe.
Critical Bug Report Report)
Once the entire import process was successfully completed, I decided to change the account's alias (nickname) to a more personalized name. However, when I entered the new name and clicked Confirm, a serious error occurred in the application:
Freezing: The extension's interface froze completely for a few seconds.
Crash and Automatic Uninstallation: The Hive Keychain Multichain (Beta) add-on then unexpectedly closed and was automatically uninstalled from the browser.
Google Chrome Notification: Immediately after the crash, the browser displayed the system alert shown in the image, indicating that "Hive Keychain Beta has stopped working" and prompting the user to click the notification balloon to reload the add-on from scratch.

It's important to note that this is the first time I've encountered this issue. I've never had a similar problem with my old wallet. I'd like to know if it was a problem with my computer or perhaps my internet connection.

Paso 1
Preparación e inicio de importación
Lo primero que hice fue respaldar y tener a la mano mi frase semilla (seed phrase) de la cuenta de Ethereum que iba a asociar. Con esto listo, abrí la versión beta de Hive Keychain Multichain y me dirigí al menú de gestión de perfiles. Como pueden ver en la imagen, en la parte inferior ahora aparece una opción renovada que dice "Agregar cuenta", la cual resalta por incluir tanto el logo de Hive como el de Ethereum. Hice clic allí para iniciar el proceso.
Al hacer clic en agregar cuenta, se abrirá la ventana de "Instalación" que pueden ver en la imagen. Por defecto, la wallet nos muestra las opciones tradicionales para la red de HIVE. Sin embargo, como nuestro objetivo actual es integrar la dirección de Ethereum, el siguiente movimiento es cambiar de pestaña y seleccionar el botón de la derecha que dice EVM. Al marcarlo, la interfaz cambiará para permitirnos ingresar las credenciales de nuestra dirección compatible.
Paso 2
Para ingresar tus 12 palabras de MetaMask, solo debes hacer lo siguiente:
1-Haz clic en el botón de la derecha que dice EVM (el que tiene la flecha naranja y el logotipo de Ethereum, justo como les muestro en la imagen
2-Al seleccionarlo, notarán que las opciones de abajo cambian por completo para adaptarse al entorno multicadena.
3-Ahora, simplemente busquen la opción que les permita importar la Frase Semilla (Secret Recovery Phrase o mnemónica), ingresen sus palabras ¡y listo!
Aquí tenemos mi cuenta Ethereum integrada a la nueva Versión del Llavero Multichain
de forma sencilla y sin complicaciones, espero muy pronto tenga miles de $ allí, jejje
Reporte de un Error Crítico (Bug Report)
Una vez completado con éxito todo el proceso de importación, decidí cambiar el alias (nickname) de la cuenta para asignarle un nombre más personalizado. Sin embargo, al introducir el nuevo nombre y hacer clic en Confirmar, ocurrió un error grave en la aplicación:
Congelamiento: La interfaz de la extensión se congeló por completo durante unos segundos.
Crasheo y Desinstalación Automática: Acto seguido, el complemento de Hive Keychain Multichain (Beta) se cerró inesperadamente y se desinstaló por completo del navegador de forma automática.
Notificación de Google Chrome: Inmediatamente después del colapso, el navegador arrojó la alerta del sistema que les muestro en la imagen indicando que "Hive Keychain Beta ha dejado de funcionar" y solicitando hacer clic en el globo para volver a cargar el complemento desde cero.
