Meanwhile Back at the Ranch: Moving Animals
Today wade full of activity. First we finished the new hog pen and moved the new sow and her babies into the new digs. They were loving it!
Next we sprayed down the calves that we had separated for weening. We use an organic lice and mange spray to keep the itching to a minimum. We then turned them loose with the main herd.
They were pretty pumped to have some room to run.
Next we let lil red out and her calf out into the corral.
The were really glad to be out of the stall.
Both of them were running and bucking all over the place.
Here is some pics of my helpers
The boar was excited to have new neighbors
The other piglets are doing fine too. We will be moving these guys in with the boat soon.
The snow has melted off in the last couple of weeks of fair weather. It is a drastic change from last year at this time. You never know when the next cold snap will show with a bunch of snow.
Here is a shot of last year at this time.
We took advantage of the wonderful weather this weekend and got quite a bit done.
Thanks for following our journey!
Here is a Saturday sunset
