Comenzó el revoque en la segunda habitación de mi casa. (Esp-Eng)

Saludos amigos de la comunidad Hive account@homesolutions. Siguiendo poco a poco con los trabajos de la casa. Como muchos ya saben, este cuarto nuevo que estoy construyendo lo he venido levantando prácticamente a pulso, avanzando cuando el tiempo, el trabajo y el bolsillo lo permiten. Aprovechando que este lunes fue festivo aquí en Colombia y estuve libre, decidí meterle mano nuevamente al proyecto y adelantar una de las tareas que tenía pendiente desde hace rato. La verdad es que tenía ganas de seguir viendo cambios en esta habitación porque ya después de tanto esfuerzo uno necesita ir viendo resultados para mantener la motivación.

Greetings, friends of the Hive account@homesolutions community. Continuing with the home improvement projects, little by little. As many of you know, I've been building this new room almost entirely by hand, making progress as time, work, and my budget allow. Since this past Monday was a holiday here in Colombia and I was free, I decided to get back to work on the project and tackle one of the tasks I'd been putting off for a while. The truth is, I was eager to see more changes in this room because after so much effort, you need to see results to stay motivated.

No fue una jornada demasiado larga, pero sí bastante productiva, y al final del día pude terminar de revocar una de las paredes completas del cuarto. Puede parecer poco para algunos, pero cuando uno hace las cosas por cuenta propia sabe perfectamente el trabajo que hay detrás de cada metro que se logra avanzar. Por ahora todavía faltan las otras tres paredes, así que queda bastante camino por recorrer. Sin embargo, antes de continuar con algunas de ellas tengo que resolver ciertos detalles que todavía están pendientes.

It wasn't a very long day, but it was quite productive, and by the end of the day I was able to finish plastering one of the room's walls. It might not seem like much to some, but when you do things yourself, you know exactly how much work goes into every meter you manage to cover. For now, the other three walls are still to be done, so there's quite a bit of work ahead. However, before I can continue with some of them, I need to take care of a few details that are still pending.

El principal es definir bien cómo va a quedar el marco de la puerta de la habitación, porque no quiero adelantar algo y después tener que romper o corregir trabajo ya hecho. Aun así, eso no significa que todo esté detenido. Hay paredes que no tienen ninguna relación con esa parte de la puerta y perfectamente puedo seguir trabajándolas en los próximos días mientras termino de organizar lo demás. La idea es ir aprovechando cada oportunidad que tenga para avanzar, aunque sea un poco, porque cuando uno construye de esta manera aprende que el secreto no está en hacer mucho de una sola vez, sino en no dejar de hacer nada durante mucho tiempo.

The main thing is to clearly define how the bedroom door frame will look, because I don't want to rush things and then have to tear up or correct work that's already been done. Even so, that doesn't mean everything is at a standstill. There are walls that have nothing to do with that part of the door, and I can perfectly well continue working on them in the coming days while I finish organizing everything else. The idea is to take advantage of every opportunity I have to make progress, even if it's just a little, because when you build this way, you learn that the secret isn't in doing a lot at once, but in not leaving anything unfinished for too long.

Algo que sí me frenó por ahora fue el cemento. Justamente cuando terminé esta primera pared se me acabó por completo, así que me tocará comprar más para poder continuar con los próximos revoques. Por suerte todavía tengo suficiente arena almacenada, así que al menos esa parte ya está cubierta y no tendré que preocuparme por eso durante un buen tiempo. La verdad me siento contento con este avance. Quizás desde afuera una sola pared no parezca gran cosa, pero para mí representa otro paso más hacia la meta que tengo desde hace algún tiempo cuando comencé a compartirles la construcción de mi casa desde cero.

Something that has held me back for now is the cement. Right after I finished this first wall, I ran out completely, so I'll have to buy more to continue with the next layers of plaster. Luckily, I still have enough sand stored, so at least that's covered and I won't have to worry about it for a while. I'm really happy with this progress. Perhaps from the outside, a single wall doesn't seem like much, but for me, it represents another step toward the goal I've had for some time now, ever since I started sharing the construction of my house from scratch.

En este punto ya casi estaba lista la pared solo me faltaba dejar secar un poco y pasar una cepillada con la llana plástica y después yo suelo pasar una esponja para quitar los pequeños grupos de arena que se forman después del revoque y esta deja la pared mas lisa para cuando venga el proceso de estucado, y en las siguientes imágenes les muestro ya la pared totalmente revocada.

At this point the wall was almost finished, I just needed to let it dry a little and give it a light brushing with the plastic trowel. Then I usually use a sponge to remove the small clumps of sand that form after the plastering, which makes the wall smoother for the stucco process. In the following images, I show you the wall completely plastered.
