Arte para Gabriela Mistral

El arte mural es uno de los que más me gusta porque llenan de vida las paredes, pero cuando este se encuentra en las calles permite que haya un mensaje, para que el transeúnte pueda desconectarse de la rutina y apreciar algo especial que está ahí para él aunque no lo sepa.

Existen varios técnicas de muralismos, y en esta ocasión tuve la oportunidad de toparme con uno realizado con piezas de cerámica pintadas. Un gran trabajo artístico, tanto en acabado como para el proceso de creación.

Este estaba inspirado en Gabriela Mistral, un ícono de la literatura, y del pueblo chileno. Me dio gusto ver que enaltecieran desde las calles a este personaje para que se mantenga siempre presente por todos los años posibles en los ciudadanos que transitan esta avenida y que además, los extranjeros podamos sentir y ver su importancia.

Gabriela Mistral además de poeta fue educadora. Y creo es lo que se quiere mostrar en el mural. Ella con un libro como guía para los niños hacia las letras, y el conocimiento.

Por otra parte, el mural está acompañado de los jardines que rodean el cerro Santa Lucía, por donde la gente que se pasea se vuelve arte, como la pareja que pasaba justo cuando capturaba el momento, el espacio donde puedes admirar lo nuevo y lo viejo, la vida y la muerte, el ayer y el hoy, como la vegetación seca que queda del otoño y el verdor de los nuevos follajes.

Mural art is one of those that I like the most because it fills the walls with life, but when it is on the streets it allows for a message, so that the passerby can disconnect from the routine and appreciate something special that is there for him even if he doesn't know it.

There are several techniques of muralism, and this time I had the opportunity to come across one made with painted ceramic pieces. A great artistic work, both in finish and for the creation process.

This one was inspired by Gabriela Mistral, an icon of literature and of the Chilean people. I was pleased to see that this character was exalted from the streets so that she will always be present for as many years as possible in the citizens who pass through this avenue and also, foreigners can feel and see its importance.

Gabriela Mistral was not only a poet but also an educator. And I think that is what the mural wants to show. She with a book as a guide for children towards letters and knowledge.

On the other hand, the mural is accompanied by the gardens surrounding the Santa Lucia hill, where people strolling by become art, like the couple passing by just as I was capturing the moment, the space where you can admire the new and the old, life and death, yesterday and today, like the dry vegetation left over from autumn and the greenery of the new foliage.
