Por qué mi cabaña no tiene deudas con el pasado
A mi edad (setenta años), el frío que envuelve la ciudad se siente distinto. No es ese frío que cala los huesos cuando vas con prisa al trabajo, sino un frío que invita a mirar por la ventana, con un café en la mano, mientras agradezco el calor de mi hogar... La leña arde, el chipoteo de la brasa.
Acepto el reto de los amigos de 
He cerrado los círculos. Me gradué, ejercí mi profesión con pasión, construí un matrimonio, vi crecer a mis hijos y, en un acto de valentía que solo se entiende cuando se ama el futuro, emigré de mi amada Venezuela para echar raíces en esta tierra norteña que hoy me abraza.
El emprendimiento de una vida
Muchos jóvenes hoy ven el "emprendimiento" como una aplicación móvil, un negocio de moda o una ganancia rápida en cripto —también los he visto aquí en HIVE—. Pero yo quiero hablarles de otro tipo de emprendimiento: el de la vida misma.
Mi mayor proyecto no fue una empresa, fue la construcción de mi presente. Cada jornada de trabajo en mi juventud, cada sacrificio al dejar mi tierra y cada decisión de ahorrar en lugar de malgastar fueron las "semillas" de este jardín que hoy disfruto.
Hoy no "emprendo" un negocio; emprendo cada mañana el viaje de disfrutar lo sembrado. Mi cabaña es cómoda, tengo servicios que funcionan, y mis vecinos no son solo personas que viven cerca; son la familia que elegí y que me eligió en la distancia. Ese es el mejor retorno de inversión que alguien puede recibir.
Una carta para los que vienen detrás
Si estás leyendo esto y tienes 20, 30 o quizá 40 años, este mensaje es para ti. A veces, la prisa por el "éxito" nos hace olvidar que estamos labrando el terreno donde nos sentaremos a descansar cuando las piernas pesen un poco más.
No dejes tu futuro para después. Emprender también es:
- Sembrar relaciones sólidas: Para que cuando seas mayor, no te falte un abrazo o un vecino que toque a tu puerta.
- Cuidar la salud y el espíritu: Para que tu retiro sea un disfrute de la naturaleza y no una visita constante al médico.
- Trabajar con propósito: No solo por el dinero, ni para complacer a tu jefe, sino por la paz del mañana.
La belleza de la cosecha
Envejecer en paz es un arte, te lo aseguro porque lo vivo hoy. Es mirar a mi hijo —quizá no conozca a mis nietos— y saber que el esfuerzo valió la pena. Es sentarse frente al paisaje canadiense y sentir que, aunque mi acento me delata y mis raíces vienen del Caribe, mi corazón está en casa porque yo misma construí ese hogar, ladrillo a ladrillo, decisión a decisión.
No tengo cuentas pendientes. No hay un "hubiera querido" que me quite el sueño. Mi emprendimiento actual es la contemplación, el amor y la gratitud.
A los jóvenes de HIVE, mi abrazo… siembren hoy en tierra fértil. No lleguen a la edad de oro con las manos vacías. Trabajen, sí, pero con el ojo puesto en esa cabaña espiritual (o real) donde querrán pasar sus días de invierno. La mejor cosecha no es la que se vende, es la que se comparte con los que amas, en una tarde de paz, sabiendo que lo diste todo y que, al final, todo volvió a ti multiplicado.

Why my cabin has no debts to the past
At my age (seventy years old), the cold that surrounds the city feels different. It is not that cold that penetrates the bones when you rush to work, but a cold that invites me to look out the window, with a coffee in my hand, while I appreciate the warmth of my home... The firewood burns, the sparkling of the embers.
I accept the challenge from the friends of
I have closed the circles. I graduated, I practiced my profession with passion, I built a marriage, I watched my children grow up and, in an act of courage that is only understood when you love the future, I emigrated from my beloved Venezuela to put down roots in this northern land that embraces me today.
The entrepreneurship of a lifetime
Many young people today see "entrepreneurship" as a mobile app, a fashion business, or a quick profit in crypto—I've seen them here at HIVE, too. But I want to talk to you about another type of entrepreneurship: that of life itself.
My biggest project was not a company, it was the construction of my present. Every day of work in my youth, every sacrifice when leaving my land and every decision to save instead of waste were the "seeds" of this garden that I enjoy today.
Today I don't "start" a business; Every morning I embark on the journey of enjoying what I have sown. My cabin is comfortable, I have services that work, and my neighbors are not just people who live nearby; They are the family that I chose and that chose me from a distance. That is the best return on investment anyone can receive.
A letter for those who come behind
If you are reading this and you are 20, 30, or maybe 40 years old, this message is for you. Sometimes the rush for "success" makes us forget that we are tilling the ground where we will sit down to rest when our legs are a little heavier.
Don't leave your future for later. Entrepreneurship is also:
- Plant solid relationships: So that when you are older, you don't miss a hug or a neighbor who knocks on your door.
- Take care of your health and spirit: So that your retreat is an enjoyment of nature and not a constant visit to the doctor.
- Work with purpose: Not just for the money, nor to please your boss, but for the peace of tomorrow.
The beauty of the harvest
Aging in peace is an art, I assure you because I live it today. It's looking at my son—he may not know my grandchildren—and knowing that the effort was worth it. It is sitting in front of the Canadian landscape and feeling that, although my accent gives me away and my roots come from the Caribbean, my heart is at home because I built that home myself, brick by brick, decision by decision.
I have no pending accounts. There is no "I would have liked" that keeps me up at night. My current endeavor is contemplation, love and gratitude.
To the young people of HIVE, my hug… sow today in fertile soil. Do not arrive at the golden age empty-handed. Work, yes, but with your eye on that spiritual (or real) cabin where you will want to spend your winter days. The best harvest is not the one that is sold, it is the one that is shared with those you love, on a peaceful afternoon, knowing that you gave everything and that, in the end, everything came back to you multiplied.
