Distributing creative content through steem

I wrote this about 5months ago. Since then I have been busy with various other things (distractions).
However, I think it is time to get reinvested into Steem and look at creating ideas, products etc to advance the Steem platform...

I was thinking how it would be amazing for content creators to sell there works (music, art etc) through the steem platform. They could write an article letting people know about their new release and set a target value whereby they would deliver the item to everyone that contributed.

So, for example: Artist creates a new song and wants to get $5000 for it. They create a post with a link to a sample (30sec clip or a low-fi) version. People comment, post, upvote, resteem etc. Once the target of $5000 has been earned on the article, then an automatic link for download would be provided for people to download.

Just an idea at the moment... but would love to work with some developers on making it happen.. a marketplace on steem would be awesome!
