Spring Equinox Dance
Happy Spring Equinox, Hive community! May we tap into the ever deepening creativity, and the new life that keeps wanting to emerge in our lives.
Self-compassion is present in my heart this morning.
There's something so magical when my inner states align with Mother Nature. This morning, I wasn't thinking about Spring Equinox. Yet I felt the energy of it. I got up, cleaned my home, breathed deep on my mat, and ended up dancing my heart out to sweet and soulful kirtan music. I cried and energetically shook off the heaviness I've been holding. The heaviness about the suffering of the world, my evolving work, the return of my asthma, and the unknowns of my life. I tapped into forgiveness. Playful joy. Healing. And deep gratitude.
After this beautiful morning, my lungs feel clear and soft. Work projects are beginning to unfold and my vision is becoming more clear. And somehow, the equal periods of daylight and darkness feel quite symbolic. Time to reclaim my lightness and innocence again, while also not turning away from the darkness.
I've been in love with a new song called "Fade Into Light" by VOLO. Here's me playing with some new footwork while dancing to this gorgeous song:
And below is a snippet of me dancing to kirtan this morning. Reviving kirtan back into my life recently has been awe-inspiring. I've been really missing that deep sense of spirituality and surrendering to something so much deeper than my ego, which has been quite active and dominant. Fear, tension, worry, and judgment has been living in my body. I've been learning about the darkest of society these days with my work (see my previous blog). And working through the disturbance I feel about all of it has been a fascinating and painful process.
I came across a quote recently that shocked me to the core. I didn't even know I needed to hear this.
Slow success builds character, fast success builds ego. - Ratan Tata
