Week 4 Maya creating a character

1. Grab a front and side picture off the internet of a front and side view of a character. Just google ‘character plan view’ or ‘character plates’.

4. Make sure the character ‘plates’ as the front and site character paintings are called are perfectly lined up in photoshop.
5. Start Maya and import the character plates into their respective front and side views.
6. Create a polygon box and extrude the sides to create the character. Only model half of the character and duplicate it across to make the whole character.
7. Follow this video on youtube or dtube.video for instructions.
8. Make a jpg of a render of your final character model.
9. Submit the jpg to your instructor for grading.
10. Make sure to do a good job because next week we will make this character walk.
