Day 398 A Strong, Wise Voice

Day 398 - $8,483 made, 23 events held, 6 products designed, 46 twerkflows made. Asking myself for a mulligan on Monday. Spending the whole day getting back into all my procrastinated upon work.

(Throwback to) Day 27 - 0$ made, 0 events held, 0 products designed, 0 twerkflows made. Working on a cash flow sheet and 40 other documents to legitimize and improve my business plan.

I don't like to rely on inspiration. Discipline is a type of fuel I control, whereas inspiration can come and go fluidly. Working regularly at a 7/10 output, not Winston Churchill, but not Napolean Dynamite either, means that I am typically happy with my output. But I'm always looking for things that will kick me into high gear. Inspiration is a wonderful source to burn, launching me into a flow state.

A trigger.

Triggers for me are most commonly found as a reminder. A voice saying something unbelievable smart, or sensical that reminds me of the value to work and create something in this moment right now.

Sometimes the triggers are persistent and sometimes they lose their energy within a few minutes. Back a year ago, I was working towards pitching my company in a grant competition to win $10,000. This was a persistent trigger. Every day I woke up knowing that I was playing a game against something. Improving your company is an infinite game - there is no end to how good and how productive it can get.

Sometimes the trigger is a strong word from a powerful voice. This is why I begin my workdays with a few hours of listening to philosopher speeches laid overtop of chillstep music. Alan Watts or Terrance McKenna are my go-to's right now and you can listen here to find out why.

Strong reminders about why what I am doing matters are my best fuel.
